Dr. Assanaru Abdul Gafoor graduated from the prestigious Trivandrum Medical College in Kerala, India ahead of working with the Ministry of Health in Oman before moving to the UAE. In 1998, he founded Ibinsina Medical Centre in Ajman, gradually expanding his practice into a series of departments and state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities. Dr. Gafoor is the Founder and Chairman of the first custom-built private hospital in Ajman, which was constructed in partnership with the Ruler’s Court, Ajman and Anglo Arabian Healthcare, playing a direct role in the designing, planning and commissioning of the centre. He also received an honorary D Litt. from University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya, India, in 2017 for entrepreneurship and philanthropic activities. Before joining Jabalsina Medical Centre Dr. Gafoor had worked in the Paediatric Department of Turnbridge Wells Hospital, NHS Trust, UK.
